Jacqui and Jill Janse van Rensburg, a local mother and daughter, bowled against each other the Johannesburg Bowls Associations Masters Tournament to make history. Both are members of the Bedfordview Bowls Club (situated at the Bedfordview Country Club) played against big names and tricky conditions to end up facing off in the final last weekend.
It was a tight game all the way until the 17th end when Jacqui (daughter) suddenly broke away to win the game 21 – 16. Well done to Jacqui and Jill for making history, and playing a good game against each other.
The duo are considered good bowlers in the lawn bowls community with Jill representing the district and Jacqui, who has been a district player for a while now, is knocking on the door to represent South Africa.
