Nine-year-old math wizz wins gold in maths competition

Curro Edenvale’s grade 4 learner Prajna Jaichun (9), achieved a gold medal at the Abacus Maths Soroban and Anzan South Africa (AMSASA) National competition which was recently held.

This competition allows students to compete by completing a 6 minute Soroban (Japanese Abacus) maths paper and a 2 minute Anzan (Mental Abacus) paper.

Jaichun now has the opportunity to prepare for the Annual International GAJSMA Competition to be held in Dubai later this year. She will have the opportunity to compete against students from other countries including India, UAE, China, and Lebanon among others.

Well done Prajna!
